Evaluation Question 7: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From the beginning of the year, it was a time where we could get used to the software and understand the idea of media studies. The preliminary task was our beginner’s task for creating a magazine cover and contents page. Since I didn’t know how to make a detailed and creative magazine, my first draft of the cover and contents page were at a low standard. For the preliminary task, we were allowed to use secondary source picture from the Internet and modify them. What I did was merge three images together for my cover page and two images together for the contents page. This technique came very handy for my future final product. The blur tool was one of the main tools I used to merge the images together. When one image looked to sharp and stood out more then the other, I blurred the edges to balance the look of the resolution between all the images. Since I had to research what many magazines looked like and what they featured, practicing with different features and techniques was a prime objective for me. Since I had practiced this for my preliminary task, the final product includes a lot more features and ideas because of this practice. In conclusion of my journey from beginning to end, I feel like ill be able to create better things in Photoshop and other methods I used.

Evaluation Question 6: What have you learned through the process of constructing this product?

Through the time is has taken me to complete my cover contents and double pages, I have been able to use almost all the tools in my key software which was Photoshop. When creating my product, I favoured the cloning tool and the shapes tool. The cloning tool allowed me to take out any imperfections of my images and any parts of the image that looked like they did not need to be there. Also making everything even allowed the products images to have a unique feeling to them. Since I got to use the cloning tool for my preliminary task, I improved the skill so I could use it in a more effective way when completing my main production magazine task. The simple shapes tool allowed me to create advertisements for my pages and tags for important information. Creating different shapes and patterns for the pages allowed my magazine to have its own unique style and will improve my final grade through creativity. Other tools such has the blur and smudge tool allowed me to blend in pictures into their background and show them as if the model was in the background and not a separate image.

Evaluation Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?

Evaluation Question 3: what kind of media institute might distribute your media product and why?

The WWMD is a magazine distributing company that distribute any type of magazine. This company is known world wide so if I was to ask them to distribute my magazine, it will be seen by many people. WWMD distributes their magazines around the world and since I would like to expand into America, the WWMD will be able to sell the magazine direct from the stores already in the country.
The Time Inc UK company distributes the magazines that are very similar to my own. This could be a better choice because the magazines that are sold will increase because of how well known IPC is for distributing magazines for R&B and other genres that are popular in America and the UK. IPC sells an average of 350million magazines in total every year and since there are only a few hundred type of them, if my magazine was to be sold by them then it would most likely sell over a 50 million since its new to people. Since younger people are starting to buy and listen to Rap and R&B music, my sales will increase and advance in the media world. Since the Time Inc UK have experience in selling music magazine as a top seller, I will be choosing them to distribute my magazine over WWMD or even other magazine distributers such as karrang magazines which are very popular are known to of changed the way magazines are seen by the world. A problem that I have with distributing with Time Inc UK is that I need a reputation for a good magazine before they can accept my magazine into their popular large group of popular magazines. Since I will need a reputation, I will start of distributing in newsagents all around the UK to then expand my audience to the Americans once I have been accepted with Time Inc UK.
